I decided to do the Auguste face that was created by Leah Prestogeorge!
Leah Prestogeorge's Auguste design. Colored by Me |
I started with the outlines of the exaggerated mouth, eye browns, and the cat-eye eyeline.
The face looks pretty evenly colored in this picture but I can see some slight yellow coloring as well as some dark orange. I'll be honest the color isn't what I wanted I wanted a more peachy color, but this process of even getting an all around color was a struggle and took up most of my time.
Then comes the hard part, making the color of the skin tone as well as applying it to my face evenly and keeping the color the same the whole way around my face. Throughout that process, I went through, almost, my whole white palette and got frustrated more than once. But in the end result it didn't look too bad.
I applied the paint with the same brush Sue provided, like in my last update, but used the blender to pat down and evenly distribute the color, it actually worked pretty well.
And now the end result... Drum roll please....

As you can see I'm totally thrilled. LOL.
But anyway, the end result went pretty well, I noticed I'm still having trouble with covering my eyebrows, just something I need to work on.
Critiques from Sue:
- The white inside my mouth needs to be less streaky. So another coat of white would have probably made it a lot better.
- My mouth wasn't as smiley as the design was. In the picture below, you can see I am smiling and that is how it should be looking when I have a straight face like the picture above.
- The outline of blue around y mouth could be better drawn, it looks a little lopsided.
- My eye brows I drew on look uneven so next time be more precise.
- The yellow on the cat-eye eyeliner could be more dramatic and out there, I feel like I can barely see it.
Other than that, I am happy clown make-up is over and on to the next project!
